WHY YOU NEED TEFL CERTIFICATION?
For every knowledge-driven individual great value and importance is usually attached to minute opportunity to learn. These individuals usually accrue to themselves immeasurable achievements and exposure in different walks of life. Teaching as a career requires consistent and persistent inquisitive instinct of the practitioners in addition to innate individual teaching potentials. One of the ways of developing oneself in this regard is through taking professional courses, attending conferences, seminars and workshop and wide research on the in-things in teaching and learning. An example of these professional courses is TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). TEFL, TESOL are acronym for Teaching English As A Foreign Language. The term is interchangeable because it means the same. It is a course designed to expose teachers or prospective teachers to the latent skills and idea in language teaching and learning profession. It is built to illustrate the paradigm shift of language teaching from the conventional language teaching to a communicative language teaching. More so, statistical evidence has shown that one of the lucrative jobs in the world today is teaching, especially teachers with certification such as TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, CELTYL, etc. Teaching has metamorphosed from mere obtaining degree in education to obtaining recognized certification in teaching. Schools, Institutions and Organizations place high value on communication skills of their employees that is why TEFL in addition to some language proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS etc, are usually required for teaching opportunities in different countries of the world.
This indeed is a great opportunity for you to key-in to the world of teaching and experience the immense benefits that await you.
ABOUT INTERNATIONAL TEFL TRAINING INSTITUTE (ITTI):
Tacito Cury is the Global Director of ITTI.
Why Us
1. International TEFL Training Institute’s TEFL certification is accredited by IAO, an international accrediting body with chapters on all continents. Our accreditation is not only restricted to one country, it is valid everywhere. Our accreditation certificate has been validated by the State Department of the United States and bears the official seal and the original signature of John Kerry, Secretary of State. See Accreditation & Affiliation.
2. International TEFL Training Institute is Center and Institutional Member of the College of Teacher’s, the U.K.’s oldest and most prestigious teacher training institution in London. In order to join this organization, you have to be invited to do so after a rigorous quality check.
3. Our program uses the same teacher training textbooks as acclaimed four-year colleges in the United States and the United Kingdom. Our course content matches their programs; this makes our TEFL/TESOL certification absolutely compatible to the college level. Here is the reason why our graduates are hired by the most prominent, quality English schools around the world.
4. Our teaching practice is led by highly qualified, experienced TEFL trainers who have already coached hundreds of prospective teachers. Unlike organizations that send trainees to community centers and have them observed by any teacher that is willing to observe them, our trainees can be certain to receive expert guidance during teaching practice. Here is the reason why our graduates are so successful in the industry. You cannot replace the expertise of a TEFL trainer by any teacher.
5. We do not guarantee a job, but we personally engage in helping our trainees find teaching positions in the country of their choice. All of our graduates who wanted to work are in excellent teaching positions. We have graduates who worked three or four years with the same employer before they decided to change their job to get to know another country. Our TEFL trainer wrote letters to schools in Dubai when a female graduate desired to work there. She has successfully been employed in a school run by UAE citizens ever since.
6. Our focus is on quality because schools want the best of the best. We at International TEFL Training Institute understand that and deliver an excellent, demanding training experience for the serious teacher trainee. We take pride in providing schools with enthusiastic teaching professionals who demonstrate clear leadership qualities, excellence in professional knowledge and love and commitment to the teaching profession.
7. We know what we are doing. As an organization with many training locations in the most beautiful areas of our world, we have been engaging in TEFL/TESOL training for 15 years. Our global training work has not only given our trainees unforgettable experiences in different countries, it has also helped our organization develop an unmatched expertise of the requirements of different countries. Over the years, we have successfully developed a network of contacts, schools and recruiters that are ready to serve our trainees when needed.
8. It is the result that really matters. If you are after solid teaching skills and a great school waiting for you at the end of the program, you have found the right partner with us. The hiring records of our graduates prove that we are doing something very right. Employers of our graduates are the public school systems of South Korea, China, Vietnam and Japan. Distinguished educational institutions such as Yale University and King Saud University in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) have given preference to our graduates. Quality names in the EFL teaching field are Education First, International House and Kaplan International Colleges—all of them work with EFL/ESL teachers trained by International TEFL Training Institute. We cannot possibly name all schools because there are so many.
9. We help non-native English speakers bring out their best. If you can dream it, you can achieve it. One of our non-native English-speaking graduates works in the public school system of Stockholm, Sweden. Our graduate from Venezuela was hired by a U.S. public school to work in South Carolina. A Brazilian graduate opened her own English school in Brazil and operates it successfully.

The goal of the program is to prepare students for the following interviewing process with schools and, ultimately, for the teaching position ahead. The TEFL course is designed to help trainees achieve their career goal—a teaching position in the country of their choice.
OUR TEFL/TESOL COURSES:
- 120 – HOUR ON-SITE/IN-CLASS TEFL/TESOL Certification Course: The 120-Hour On-Site TEFL Certification is accepted at all schools worldwide, including the highest paying.  Some of those schools even require this program and will not accept any other type of training in place of it. Our four-week, on-site TESOL certification course provides for a high-quality teaching practice. During the program, there are daily theory lessons in which trainees learn TEFL teaching methodology, how to manage a class, and how to teach accent reduction and interesting grammar classes. A great amount of the class time covers designing, teaching, and evaluating TEFL practice classes. This TEFL certification gives you an excellent return on your investment and is just as perfect for starting teachers as is for a refreshing update of new ways of teaching English for seasoned teachers. As you gradually progress through the course, you have sufficient practice time available to apply them to teaching and get immediate feedback from your TEFL trainer. The 120-Hour On-Site TEFL course is a must for all those who anticipate a teaching position in South Korea or at high-paying schools/universities of Saudi Arabia, Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries.
- 120-Hour Online TEFL/TESOL Certification Course: Our 20-Hour Online TEFL course can be completed online at any pace up to a maximum of six months. The online course provides an affordable option in terms of cost and time flexibility but does not include Teaching Practicum (TP).
- 120-Hour Combine TEFL/TESOL Certification Course: Our combined TEFL/TESOL course consists of an online part followed by on-site teaching practice. First, you study the theoretical foundations of TEFL/TESOL online at your own pace under the supervision of an online trainer. After completion of the theory part, you’ll teach actual EFL/ESL students at our TEFL training center in Lagos for seven days. This course is ideal for those people who cannot manage to stay full four weeks in an on-site TEFL/TESOL program. You still get the actual teaching practice (something a lot of schools prefer or even require, especially when they pay a higher salary).  As the course features the same components as the on-site course, it results in the same 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certification. The TEFL certificate you will be awarded is exactly the same as for the 4-week, on-site program. The course type comes with comprehensive career-support services for life. Â
OUR CAREER SUPPORT:
There are more TEFL jobs around than TEFL teachers; schools are desperate to hire qualified individuals. We provide you with full career-support services for life. We assist you in setting up your professional CV/resume and give you schools / recruiters information. We even contact schools for certain trainees.
Due to our state-of-the-art TEFL training, our prospective TEFL teachers usually have the choice among rewarding positions and land TEFL jobs rather easily.
OUR TEACHING PRACTICE:
Our on-site program is an accredited 120-Hour TEFL Certification with observed teaching practice of actual EFL students. It stretches over four weeks, of which the last three weeks include the teaching practicum. Our trainees teach about 40 minutes daily. We have three proficiency levels of EFL students. Our trainers are professional teachers with an MA TESOL.
Below are Photos of our teaching practice class by TEFL trainees in 2017
OUR TEFL CERTIFICATE:
Our certificate is accepted in countries all over the globe. There won’t be any school in this world that would reject you based on our TESOL certificate. Each certificate issued to our graduates has a control number imbibed in it for authentication purpose. Our graduates work in excellent schools. Our course graduates were accepted in internationally acclaimed schools such as Yale University, Kaplan’s International Colleges, United Nations School, Eton College (Dubai), King Saud University in Riyadh, etc. Several of our graduates have been hired at schools throughout the Middle East earning a fabulous income.
One of our New York school graduates (from Nigeria) worked at a vocational school for a major oilfield in Saudi Arabia after the course. He taught English to the technicians who will work in the oil field upon graduation. He made a phenomenal salary over there. He is teaching at the University of Oman right now. Here is his story.

- The 120-Hour TEFL Certification program in Lagos is exactly the same course as taught in New York, London, Paris, or in other centers.
- The TEFL course comes with the same quality employment support.
- Our worldwide accredited TEFL certificate opens the door to schools around the world. It’s the type of TEFL certification required by the highest paying schools.Â
And here are some more reasons to come to Lagos:
- Lagos has a beautiful coastline. Its beaches are compatible to white, sandy beaches in Mexico or Thailand. The most attractive beaches are Tarkwa Bay, Elegushi and Oniru Beach.  Lagos beaches offer fun and sun all year long.
- For those who love history, the National Museum Lagos is a place to explore. The museum has a notable collection of Nigerian art, including pieces of statuary, carvings and archaeological and ethnographic exhibits. The museum was founded in 1957 by an English archaeologist and has educated many Nigerians, British, and tourists on the history and culture of Nigeria since then.
- The third mainland bridge:
The Third Mainland Bridge is the longest of three bridges connecting Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria to the mainland, the other two being the Eko and Carter bridges. It is the longest bridge in Africa. The bridge was built by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC and opened by President Ibrahim Babangida in 1990; it measures about 11.8km in length. - Eko Hotel: Eko Hotel & Suites is the most prestigious international hotel in Lagos, strategically positioned near the heart of Nigeria’s economic activity. Built on the exclusive Victoria Island, the Hotel is spread over three buildings and has spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Kuramo Lagoon. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and magnificent African landscaping.
- Lagos Island Market: If you love shopping and exploring markets, you have come to the right place. With a bouquet of commodities ranging from beautiful local and foreign jewelry to fabrics, clothing, homewares and electronics, Lagos Island Market is the largest shopping district in West Africa. While the market has no particular address as it spans across many streets on the island, certain parts within the market, including Balogun and Breadfruit Streets, are famous for attracting most of the tourists.
- LAGOS   WEATHER: Due to its close proximity to the equator and the Atlantic Ocean, the climate in Nigeria is tropical. Temperatures are generally consistently high. The seasons are more defined by the difference in rainfall than a change on the thermometer. In Lagos, the average high in January is 88°F (31°C) and 73°F (23°C). There is hardly a drop of water that falls from the sky. In June it’s 82°F (28°C) and 73°F (23°C); June is the month with the heaviest rains. In the south of the country, a coastal region that includes Lagos and the oil-rich area of Port Harcourt, it’s incredibly humid, but it rarely gets hotter than 90°F (32°C). This area is characterized by two rainy periods: one short period and one long one. The long rainy season begins in late February or early March and lasts until July. The short rainy season starts in September and runs through October, though rains are not nearly as heavy as in the long season.Â
Trainees taking their TEFL training in Nigeria would do well to bring light, loose-fitting clothes and, most importantly, an umbrella. In general, one can leave the winter jackets and long underwear behind, and can pack a favorite swimsuit and a high-SPF sun lotion.
